                         Prep-Explorers

                         (Preschoolers)

Our preschool program begins once our children make the transition from the toddler classrooms.  The title of the class, Prep-Explorers says it all.  Research shows that children learn best through real experiences.  Our teachers, curriculum and philosophy provide many opportunities for hands on, meaningful learning experiences.

Our preschool classes have an abundance of learning opportunities to offer expanding young minds.   Our teachers empower the children with choices and challenges throughout the day, which provide them with the opportunity for exploration and hands on learning.  Children are offered active learning centers to spark their interest and creativity.  The art, music, science, sensory, dramatic play, block, writing, library, manipulative and quiet centers all work together to provide a play-like learning ennvironment where the children can learn through active exploration!

                        GA Pre-K Program

                        (Lottery Funded)

North Point Prep has two lottery funded Pre-Kindergarten classrooms that have 20 children each. These Pre-K programs are structured to promote Kindergarten readiness.  North Point Prep has chosen the state accepted "Creative Curriculum" to use in the Pre-K classrooms.  For more information on Georgia Pre-K, and to find out more about the Creative Curriculum please see this website www.decal.state.ga.us.

                       Private Pre-K Program

                         (Privately Funded)

North Point Prep is excited to introduce a Private Pre-K program to our list of wonderful programs.  The Private Pre-K program will offer the Creative Curriculum, and will focus on preparing children for Georgia Pre-K or Kindergarten.  The age guidelines for Private Pre-K enrollment state that children must turn four between June 1st and December 31st of the current school year.  The Private Pre-K's goals and objectives are hand in hand with that of the Georgia Pre-K.  Using these goals and objectives will ensure that children are ready for Kindergarten or Georgia Pre-K upon leaving the Private program.

PRE-K ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE:

North Point Prep participates in the lottery funded Georgia Pre-K program. Spaces will be given to eligible children currently enrolled at North Point Prep.  The remaining spaces will be limited and will be enrolled as follows:

Remaining spaces will be enrolled by lottery.  Parents will be asked to tour the Pre-K programs beginning January 15, 2009.  Tours will be given once per month on the 3rd Thursday of the month through March.  Those dates are as follows: Jan. 15, Feb. 19 and Mar. 19.  Tours will be scheduled by appointment only at 10am, 10:30am or 11am.

Once parents have toured the program, their names may be placed in the lottery.  Names will be drawn during the month of April.  The names that are drawn in the lottery will be notified by phone call that they are invited to participate in our Pre-K program.  Parents will have 24 hours to respond to our phone call.  If no response is received in 24 hours another name will be drawn and another parent notified.  Invitation letters will be available for children chosen in the lottery to be signed within 5 business days. Invitation letters that remain unsigned after this time will result in the forfeiture of Pre-K space.
