Our Infant classroom is for children between the age of 6 weeks and 12 months. Our Infant teachers understand that much of an infant’s care is routine (diapering, feeding, and sleeping). After all, it’s these routines that foster secure attachment to caregivers. Our infant classroom is an environment full of snuggles, laughter, singing and play time! Children in this class are provided with individualized opportunities for growth in every area of development.
The teachers in the infant program write monthly plans for each individual child based on his/her developmental needs. Since infants grow so quickly it is important to realize what each child’s level of development is so that experiences can be planned (tummy time, guided walking, reaching and grasping, etc.) to provide them with the supports necessary to develop within widely held expectations. The infants also enjoy finger painting, outside exploration, story time and much more! The Infant teachers plan and assess using the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards found at Bright from the Start: GELDS.
The infant room team is a true asset to North Point Prep!
